The Unseen Field - Post 1 of 5

Mapping your blind spots - what you can't see, what others see, and what no one is looking at

What No One Is Looking At

The blind spot and the energy that leaks through it

I pulled up to a house that had seen more than its share of trouble.

The family living there had been moving through a sustained pattern of ill health and bad fortune. Not one thing, a pattern. The kind that accumulates quietly over years until it begins to feel like simply the way life is.

Before I stepped inside I stood on the street and looked.

The house sat on the low side of a T-intersection. Directly opposite, a perpendicular street ran fifty metres uphill toward the property. There was nothing between the road and the front wall of the house. No fence. No barrier. No trees. Nothing.

Any vehicle that lost control coming down that hill; brake failure, a moment of inattention, ice on the road, would travel in a straight, unimpeded line directly into the front of that house.

Into the rooms where the children slept.

I walked inside. The children had dark rings under their eyes. They were sleeping badly. Their bed heads were positioned against the front wall, directly beneath the windows that faced the street.

Night after night, year after year, those children's nervous systems were doing what nervous systems do. Monitoring. Staying alert. Registering, at a level beneath conscious awareness, that something was coming. That the space they were supposed to rest in was not safe.

They had no idea. Their parents had no idea. They had looked at that street, that intersection, that front wall of the house every single day and never once seen what I saw standing on the footpath for the first time.

That is a blind spot.

The other pole of the spectrum

In the last series we explored what happens when observation is too heavy — when the watching is saturated with judgment and expectation of failure. Stage fright. Constriction. The field that cannot perform because it is being watched into paralysis.

This series explores the other end.

What happens when something is not watched at all. When a part of your field, your home, your body, your relationships, your inner life; exists entirely outside the light of awareness. Yours, or anyone else's.

Because here is what thirty years of field work has shown me: the unseen space is never neutral.

Energy moves. It flows toward awareness and away from it. The part of your field that is witnessed and tended holds. The part that is unseen and unattended leaks.

Quietly. Consistently. Without announcement.

And the drain continues for as long as the blind spot remains a blind spot.

Three positions, one field

There are three perceptual positions that shape your field at any given moment.

The first is what you know about yourself. Your conscious self-awareness; the patterns you have named, the history you have examined, the aspects of your life you have brought into the light of your own attention.

The second is what others can see about you that you cannot. The reflection available in the people around you; in how they respond to you, what they notice, what they tiptoe around. Information that exists in the field between you and the people closest to you, visible to them and invisible to you.

The third is what no one is looking at. The territory that belongs to neither self-observation nor external reflection. The thing that has never been named, never been seen, never been brought into any field of awareness at all. This is the deepest blind spot. And it is almost always where the most significant leak is found.

The family on the T-intersection were living inside all three positions simultaneously. They knew they were unwell and unlucky. The people around them could see the toll it was taking. But what no one was looking at; what existed entirely outside anyone's field of awareness, was the architectural fact of an unimpeded trajectory of threat aimed at the place where their children slept.

Once it was seen, it could be addressed. The beds were moved. Physical barriers were recommended. Slowly, measurably, things began to shift.

They eventually sold the house and moved on. Years later I drove past the property. The old house had been demolished and rebuilt. At the front; a solid masonry wall. Trees planted along the boundary.

The land itself finally had the structure it had always needed.

The question this series asks

Not what are you watching too closely.

Not what judgment are you carrying into the field of your own life.

But this: what are you not looking at?

Where in your body, your home, your relationships, your daily life is there a space that has never been examined; that you have looked at every day without ever truly seeing?

Because that space is not empty. It is not waiting quietly for when you are ready. It is active. It is costing you energy you do not know you are spending. It is shaping your experience in ways you have attributed to bad luck, to personality, to the way things simply are.

It is a leak. And leaks can be found.

That is the work of this series.

Where to go from here

Draw a card. The oracle draw at Spatial Energetics works directly with the field - including the parts of it that are ready to be seen. Sometimes the card that comes forward is the one pointing at exactly what you have not yet looked at. Go to spatialenergetics.com.au/oracle-draw and see what surfaces. Let me know through my contact form what cards gets delivered and I will respond with the deeper teachings around this card that I have develloped for my book and the physical cards sets in production.

Or book a session. If you read this and felt something stir; a sense of recognition about a pattern you have not been able to explain; that is your field indicating the blind spot is ready to be found. Book here.

Next in the series: What others see : the reflection you have been avoiding, and why it matters to your field.
